Responsibilities:
Will be responsible for installing, configuring, monitoring and troubleshooting of LPARS with a Mainframe environment. Task will include performance monitoring, tuning, researching issues, and analysis of requests to determine mainframe hardware/software implications. Perform maintenance patching, application upgrades, hardware installations/replacements and upgrades by performing O/S reconfigurations as needed. Able to develop/modify scripts to automate processes, and provide support to development teams. Will ensure mainframe security by reviewing and implementing mainframe policies within the systems.
Required Skills:
-5+ years Mainframe Systems Programming experience; Z/OS preferred
-Solid experience with COBOL, DB2, MQ; able to develop/modify scripts for automation
-Experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting LPARS within a mainframe environment
-Experience with some of the following: ALC, VTAM, CICS, TSO, ISPF and JES
-Excellent communication skills; collaborative, detail-oriented, strong analysis/troubleshooting
-Able to participate in on-call responsibilities (after hours, weekends as needed)
Education:
Bachelor's degree preferred; High School degree or GED required
